When teen witch Ivy MacTavish changes a lizard into her date for a Halloween dance, everything turns to chaos. And when no one is powerful enough to transform him back except Ivy, it sparks the rumor: Like father, like daughter. Worse, someone has used an evil spell book to bring back two of history's most nefarious killers.

Ivy's got a simple plan to set things right: find the real dark spell caster, steal the book, and reverse the spell. No problem! But first, she’ll have to deal with something more dangerous than murderous spirits: the school’s hotter-than-brimstone demon bad boy, Nick Marcelli. Demons are about as hard to handle as black magic, and Ivy soon discovers it’s going to take more than a lot of luck and a little charm if she wants to clear her status as a dark witch, get a warm-blooded boyfriend, and have her former date back to eating meal worms before the week’s end.

Against the backdrop of epic warfare and the powers of ten mysterious gods, Lucia struggles to understand The Black One.

Her messianic brother wants peace.
The black god wants his due.

Cover Reveal - Claiming A Siren's Heart

Today I'm showcasing my 3rd paranormal novella - Claiming A Siren's Heart. I'm having such fun writing this series I think more characters are calling out for their own story. This novella will be released on Amazon for September but today I'm showing off my gorgeous cover.

Claiming A Siren's Heart
Book Blurb:

Tasked with guarding the sea god Poseidon’s vault, Fiona, intense and sexy warrior siren of the deep, was not about to let it be known someone had stolen treasure under her watch. But when she travelled to the human realm to reclaim what belongs to her god the last thing she expected to find was searing passion in the arms of a man.

Trace wears guilt like a second skin. Ever since his fellow Navy Seal buddy died he’s been pushing his limits in the sea. Finding a cave filled with ancient artifacts was great but having a sexy temptress storm into his life is a wet dream come true. One he’s not about to let free from his bed anytime soon, especially since his idea of a punishment means fun for all.

The sea laws are harsh and in the end Fiona’s one night of hot, sweaty sex with a human could be too much for them both.

Tina Donahue talks about more than menage

Today I'm happy to report my blog has been taken over by the very talented erotic writer Tina Donahue. This is one blog I thoroughly enjoyed reading and I know you will also.

MORE THAN MÉNAGE

After reading the blog’s title, I know what some of you are thinking at this point. More than ménage must mean three guys, maybe four, five, six – dare we say up to twelve hunks – with one woman!!

Easy now, sit back, take a deep breath because that’s not what I’m getting at.

What I’m referring to is what makes a group activity, ménage or a simple one-on-one irresistible and trust me – it ain’t the sex.  It’s the emotional connection of the characters who are involved with each other.

Although I write erotic romance, which is simply romance with more explicit bedroom scenes, I wholeheartedly believe that it’s the sexual tension and emotional build that makes readers turn the pages. From the moment I began writing steamy stories, my brand has been “Heat with Heart”. It’s served me well, and from the comments of reviewers and my fans, they like a sexy story with depth.

Take my award-winning erotic contemporary Sensual Stranger. Yeah, there are scenes so hot you’ll need a cold drink and a fan to get through them. However, it’s the spark between Toni and Zach that makes the journey worthwhile. He’d lost his wife in a tragic accident the year before. Since she was fifteen, Toni’s been on her own without a family to care. They’re two damaged souls, two very lonely people who are lucky enough to get a second chance at love. Those are the parts I enjoyed writing the most…the quiet moments between them where they began to realize they were meant for each other. Sensual Stranger was named Book of the Year by Blue Moon Reviews. It received four stars from Romantic Times. I don’t believe the sex was the reason for the raves, as sizzling as those scenes were. It was because of the romance, the friendship, the love.

In each of my romances, I’ve done the same and succeeded – again, according to fans and reviewers. However, when I first tried my hand at ménage, I hit a wall. I wondered how one woman could love two men equally. The notion went against everything I’d thought up to that time. Even so, with my first ménage, SiNN, the secondary hero, Toby, wouldn’t stay away from Lea (my heroine) no matter how much I tried to make him do so. I decided to step back and allow him to have his way. I’m glad I did. The story worked better as a ménage than as I’d originally plotted it.

My second ménage, Sinfully Wicked, was released this March. Again, the story begged for two heroes, Mitch and Connor, who’ve loved Nikki from the time they’d met in high school. Because of a past betrayal, their road to romance and love is rocky as the romance opens, but it’s never dull. These people belong together; they’re in each others’ blood. And I made certain the sexual sparks fly early and frequently, while also building upon the friendship they all experienced so many years before.

My continuing version of Heat with Heart. J

Author Lilly Cain talks about why Everyone Loves a Fairy Tale

Today on my blog I'm letting my good writing friend Lilly Cain, who besides writing for Carina Press has taken the Indie plunge. Today, she's talking about why Everyone Loves a Fairy Tale. Plus leave a comment because she's giving away a copy of her latest novella Return to Me to one lucky commenter.

Hi Renee!  Thanks for having me here today!

As a kid I was a voracious reader. That hasn’t changed a bit. J And I loved fairy tale then, just as I do now. Mine are just a bit different these days. I love the dark undertones to the original fairy tales from every country. These stories were not your Disney presentations but gritty, dangerous, scary and sometimes sexy stories told around fires for the delight of people young and old.

Take the latest movie versions of Snow White. Definitely not something you would let a small child watch. And yet they might be closer to the original tale.

Lately I have been reading, and now writing, folklore from other countries. My current favorites are the Celtic tales, so that’s why I decided to write a modern Celtic fairytale in my own style – as an erotic romance. This short novella Return To Me is all me (super hot and sexy if I do say so myself) but also features a classic character from Celtic folklore – the Selkie. Selkie are shapechangers who love in the ocean for most of their lives, wearing magical pelts that change them into seals. When they come ashore to walk as men, they shed their pelts and hide them from the humans they wish to dally with.

The Selkie take a big risk coming ashore. If a human were to steal their pelt they would never be able to go home and they would forget the ocean, but a part of them would always feel lost. On the other hand, a human who loves a Selkie knows that if they give their heart to these shapechangers and leave their pelts and freedom alone, they will eventually be abandoned when the inescapable pull to return to the water carries their lovers away. In the water the Selkie forget their human loves, even their possible offspring.

In Return To Me, trust between a human woman and a Selkie man is rewarded and loyalty, despite the possible consequences, overcomes a danger that neither of the two lovers had even considered.

Celebrating 10th Ellora's Cave release - 10 e-books and $10 Amazon gift card up for grabs

Kissed is my latest erotic paranormal romance published with Ellora’s Cave (EC). I can’t believe I now have 10 stories out with EC. That’s so amazing and to celebrate I’m giving away a complete box set of all my EC books as e-books plus a $10 Amazon gift card for THREE lucky winners. All you have to do to win is tell me a bit about your favorite place. Please leave your email in your comment. Winner will be randomly picked on my birthday – Saturday, May 26, 2012! Let's celebrate together.

Inverness Beach, Cape Breton, NS
Today, I’m telling you about one of my loves. Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. My love of Cape Breton began when I was a child and my father spent a few weeks each summer diving off its coast for sunken treasures. I spent my days walking the beaches but the minute he came to shore I dove into his net to find those treasurers. Old Spanish coins, precious jewels, small vials that held who knows what and old wine bottles seeped into my memory of Cape Breton. When not scourging the beaches I took to the hills with my mother to pick wild blueberries. Those hills which seemed like mountains to me I never forgot. There was a peace in those hills; a history of old houses built hundreds of years ago which the forest reclaimed and I loved to explore it all. Cape Breton beaches like Inverness and the hills and landscape of Cape Smokey, the trails along the cliffs of the Keltic Lodge, all those things became a part of me and I wanted to showcase some of the mysticism in my latest book. Kissed showcases the lure of the land.
Keltic Lodge & Resort, Cape Breton, NS

Cape Smokey, Cape Breton, NS
Kissed also showcases the Druid and Fey belief and trust me people in Cape Breton are very superstitious. I loved how when I was a child, we’d go visiting people in Cape Breton and with Cape Breton hospitality we’d find ourselves staying first for tea and biscuits and then of course for supper. It’s considered rude to refuse an invite for supper, so we often found ourselves enjoying homemade clam chowder, or a boiled dinner with people who might have started out as brief acquaintances to only become fast friends.

Kissed - a story of fey heart

http://erotic.theromancereviews.com/index.php?hop

So excited to see my latest Ellora's Cave book debuting this week. Kissed is the first book in a series I've called Fairy Curses and it's set in the Highlands of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I wrote this book with multiple POV and I created the world of the fey with a mix of beauty and evil. What I wanted to focus on was a hero beaten down by a strong matriarch but who discovers he needs a woman to fill his heart. Tara is my hometown, country girl who thinks she's plain and ordinary. It takes one kiss from a stranger to change her life and destiny. Kissed is a sexy read and I hope you all enjoy.

To celebrate Kissed and as part of the Erotic Madness Hop I'll also be giving away an e-copy of Kissed to one lucky person. Leave a comment with your name and email and you could be that lucky person.

Kissed by Renee Field

“I know you.”
His gravelly, hard-edged voice left her wanting to rub a finger over his lips. She felt his warm, large hands span her waist to help keep her standing upright as she bent to dislodge her stuck boot.
The feel of his hands on her waist through the puffy confines of the feather-down jacket caused her body to hum all over. Not good, not good at all. Why couldn’t I have stumbled on an old man? Nope, I stumble across one drop-dead gorgeous hunk. Too bad he stinks to high heaven. Then again, that’s probably not a bad thing because I don’t know this man…a warning I should heed.
She laughed this time. “I don’t think so. We’ve never been introduced. Trust me, I’d remember.” Boot unstuck, she slipped it back onto her cold foot.
“You speak my language.”
Instinctively she stilled, frozen to the spot. He spoke her grandmother’s secret language. The lilt of his words flowed like a sensual stream off his tongue, evoking a sharp intake of breath on her behalf. A flash of a tall, angry, imposing man jumped into her mind. A thought that she should have run when she had the chance caused her heart to accelerate. But none of that mattered. She was nicely caught, held by tempting hands whose thumbs were stroking her jacket, distracting her earlier thoughts. “A bit,” she answered back in English.
“Well, well, well, my night just got better.”
He crushed her body up close and personal to his muscular frame and lowered his lips to her mouth before she could protest. She knew then she should scream. Instead her mind digested the taste of rum and something wild and exotic like the combined taste of cinnamon and cardamom. A part unknown within her urged her to yield to it. She fought with herself not to bend her body to his large, hard frame. Luckily all she could smell was skunk. But even that didn’t matter as much anymore.
What was happening to her had never happened before. Sure, she’d been kissed a few times, but not like this. Not by a man who knew what it meant to be a lover. Not by a man whose lips were molding her own to his, demanding she comply, willing her to open to her own passion. His tongue stroked her own, dancing and dueling with hers, forcing her mouth to yield to his skill. A skill that should have shocked her. Instead, she welcomed it, tilting her head, adjusting her stance without thought to accommodate his desires. Tasting, taking…feeling the rush of sexual power that fueled their mingled breaths. His powerful hands roamed up and under her coat to clutch her back. The heat of his flesh scorched her, fueling a rush of warmth below, causing her to want to rub her legs around his thighs. She whimpered, lust and need swamped her senses, making her dizzy.
“Ahh, that’s what I thought. There’s more of my kind in you than you know.”
His tone was quiet and mocking. Abruptly, he backed away. Tara shivered from his absence as the cold wind of the night brought common sense back to her.
